The best way on the mountain to find your friends, find yourself, and find your way.
OnSlope turns your phone into a powerful interactive trail map. Whether you are in a lesson on the bunny slopes or knee-deep in the back bowls, OnSlope uses the iPhone's built-in GPS to locate you on the actual map from the actual resort. When your friends or family have the program on their phones, you can see their location, too. With a refined interface and simple tools to connect to your friends, OnSlope works just like the iPhone's excellent built-in programs.
Don't try in vain to call or SMS your skiing and riding buddies while they're busy slicing down the next run over. Beat them to the lift line and meet them there!
OnSlope uses the real trail map from the resort you're visiting, not a twisted-around, upside-down facsimile. Resorts produce beautiful, detailed maps of their grounds and update them yearly. OnSlope makes those maps even better with the iPhone's GPS and network capabilities but retains their fine detail. Like the built-in Maps application, zooming in with the iPhone's advanced multi-touch screen will show higher-resolution versions of every corner of the resort.
With other trail map programs, you'll need to keep a copy of the resort's paper map in your pocket. With OnSlope, it's the same map … and much more.
Social networking services can be daunting. They force you to sign up, adopt a vocabulary, and conform to their boxes. Connecting to your friends and family with OnSlope is easy, using the Address Book in your iPhone and minimizing the actions you need to take to get connected. You'll be up and running by the time you get to the top of the first lift!
You're on the mountain to ski and ride, not fiddle with endless menus. OnSlope makes finding your friends easy.
OnSlope uses a proprietary terrain-modeling technique to accurately locate you and your friends on the resort's trail map. And since the entire map is downloaded when you add your favorite resort, you won't need a cellular signal to look over the whole mountain. Even if you wander between runs, OnSlope can find you as long as you can get a GPS signal. First-generation iPhone and iPod touch owners can use the map and friend location features, although the GPS in the iPhone 3G is necessary to pinpoint your own location. You might not even need to know where you are on the mountain—maybe you just want to keep track of your family from the comfort of the lodge!
With OnSlope, you can split up your group, take different runs, and meet up for lunch—without a single phone call or text message.
Privacy is a very serious issue, especially when you choose to share your location. OnSlope is seriously committed to protecting your private information, from anonymizing all location data sent to its servers to making sure only the people in your friends list can see your status and location. If you only want to use the map part of OnSlope and don't want to send your location to your friends, you can turn it off.
High-tech software needs high-tech protection, and OnSlope is no exception. We are as passionate about privacy as we are about skiing and riding!
